More Photos of Sean
Sean Off to Ft. Leonard Wood, MO

May 30 our Sean left via his first plane ride for Missouri. Said later it was alright except for take offs and landings. That's sure to change over the years in the military.
We've heard from him often and his parents have gotten phone calls, usually short, but today's was almost 30 minutes.
He appears to be enjoying it and should finish up August 11. We'll all be going for his graduation. His dad has rooms reserved already for us.
Sean goes in the Army
Our youngest grandson, Sean, joined the Army last May and finished boot camp at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO in August. We were all proud to be at his graduation. He was more than glad to see family after all those weeks. Next he was stationed at Fr. Huachuca, AZ until Jan. 2012. His orders then came for none other than....Scofield Barracks, Hawaii! What a tough assignment! He is enjoying the beautiful climate there, but really missing family so far away.
We haven't gotten many photos from him in Hawaii, but hope to go next year to take our own.

2011 Easter
Nannie took Sophia to a church in LaGrange that has a community egg hunt. She had never been to one that big. Actually she'd only hunted eggs with 1 or 2 other children in the past. She did very well and was in a nice size group. The Easter Bunny also made an appearance as well as a storyteller sharing the true story of Easter.
On Sunday the rest of the family came and had lunch with us. Some of these photos show Sean and Joel. Sophia just had to try the hammock again. After several failed attepts to get in and a few furtive glances toward the porch where we all st, her dad finally broke down and went to help her.

Sean Joins the Army

May 31 Sean will leave for Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. He will be there until late August, then leave for Ft. Huachuca which we can't pronounce as yet. He'll be in 6 (SIX)!!! years. That was required to get the training he wants for unmanned aircraft repair. He needs lots of prayers going so far away for the first time in his 20+ years. He is real excited which is contagious until we consider the reality of what is happening.

2010 Christmas
Christmas was bitter sweet this year. Our youngest, Brian and his wife, Jessica, had just gotten her parents moved to GA from AL when her dad got sicker and had to be hospitalized. Their Sophia had come to stay while they moved them and ended up with us for almost 2 weeks. We were priviledged to enjoy her getting Santa on Christmas morning and the snow that followed that evening. The first White Christmas for all of us ever!
On Christmas Eve we open presents with friends and family. This year I had done personal scrapbooks for each son and grandchild. You will see them opening and sharing them in the photos.
Last year when it snowed before Valentine's Sophia visited us and we had no equipment to play with in the snow. This year we were prepared with sliders that came just 2 days before Christmas! You'll see them being used as a slide and shovel. A wonderful time but unfortunately her mom and Ta Ta missed it We sent dvds and will have further scrapbook events for all to see.

Thanksgiving, 2010
We get together the Sunday after Thanksgiving allowing for our children to enjoy their respective families and not overeat on one day. We also take family photos and as you can see, these clowns came up with some funny poses behind my back.
Caroline's birthday is Dec. 5 and we decided to celebrate it a week early. She's here trying to cut her cake with Pat's assistance, uh, aggravation.
